Acceptable Use Policy
Mira is a serious due-diligence platform. These rules exist to protect the people we research, our other customers, and the integrity of the service. They apply to everyone with a Mira account.
What Mira is for
Lawful, public-interest research into companies and individuals — for example know-your-business (KYB), counterparty checks, lending decisions, governance vetting, employment background screening (where lawful and consented), and compliance investigations.
Prohibited uses
You may not use Mira to:
- Stalk, harass, intimidate, or threaten any person.
- Make employment, housing, credit, or insurance decisions in violation of anti-discrimination law in your jurisdiction (including on the basis of race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, age, or other protected characteristics).
- Conduct research that is illegal in your jurisdiction or in New Zealand.
- Investigate minors except where lawful (e.g. court-ordered guardianship reviews) and necessary.
- Build a profile of a person for retaliation, doxxing, or to encourage others to harm them.
- Circumvent rate limits, scrape outputs in bulk, or attempt to reverse-engineer our agents or models.
- Use outputs to train competing AI products or to populate a third-party data broker.
- Resell reports or share them outside your organisation without our written consent.
- Submit false identifiers in an attempt to associate findings with the wrong person or company.
- Attempt to access another tenant’s data, escalate privileges, or exploit the platform.
- Upload malware, conduct denial-of-service tests, or interfere with other users.
Special rules for personal investigations
When investigating a natural person you must have a lawful basis under the applicable privacy law (e.g. NZ Privacy Act 2020, GDPR). You are responsible for documenting that basis. Mira is not for personal feuds, ex-partner surveillance, or curiosity-driven background checks.
Reporting abuse
If you believe Mira is being used in violation of this policy, email alan@chattomira.com with subject line ABUSE — <short summary>.
